I have low expectations of a hotel. I want to be able to work and sleep. In this hotel I could not sleep because there is some kind of Fedex depot next door and they were moving giant metal containers around late into the night (after 11:30 to be sure) and early in the morning (by 5:30, maybe earlier). I don’t know who built their building first, but if the Hilton team thought this was a good site selection with a FedEx depot next door they should be forced to sleep here for a month or two as punishment.
Rooms are well maintained, clean and modern (especially the bathroom as other guests have noted). Fitness center is heavily lacking with no free weights or cable machines that I was hoping to use. Continental breakfast was decent with good biscuits and average scrambled eggs. Coffee was really weak and had a bad burnt flavor. Staff are courteous and helpfull with every interaction. Plenty of parking. Would stay again.
My wife and daughter said they thought our room smelled funny. I didn’t notice but they are much more sensitive to these things than me. Rooms clearly need an update. Our vanity was separated from the wall but seemed sturdy enough so it’s probably more of a bad install than a structural problem.
Staff was nice but I sure wish the night lady would have warned us about the noise. When I called to ask her about it at 10:30 she clearly knew that they worked late but acted like she wasn’t aware how loud they were. I doubt FedEx designed their shipping containers to correspond to my visit so it has to have been like this before.
I would avoid the place at all costs but if you have to stay here for some reason get an odd numbered room so you are on the other side of theFedEx depot
Nice people, nice room, nice bed. This hotel has been renovated at some point. Breakfast was also very good and kept filled!
I would like to thank Jennifer, manager, for another great stay. Our first experience with this hotel was in June/July this year for a family reunion and she kept in touch even after our stay to make sure everything went as planned and make sure all of our family were satisfied. I live in Michigan and we have other family come from all over the country (IL, CA, GA, AL, TX) and we've gotten together every year for the last 25+ years (before me lol). After an excellent stay this summer for our reunion I gave Jennifer a call and she remembered me! She got us booked for our Thanksgiving trip. We will be back next Thanksgiving! Nothing but compliments to this hotel, its staff, and breakfast. The receptionists were also very polite and courteous! Thank you Jonesboro Hampton for another great stay!
