Wonderful collection of cards and holiday gifts...

My kids and I had a bad experience at June's Hallmark. We spent about 10 minutes looking at ornaments and my daughter picked out a Grease ornament. My son wanted a Daniel Tiger ornament but we couldn't find the box on the shelf. We walked to the front of the shop and there were two women standing near the checkout counter. One woman was wearing a Hallmark apron; the other woman was wearing ordinary clothes and at first I thought she was a customer. The woman with the apron was very polite and asked of we needed help. I asked her of she knew if she had anymore of the Daniel Tiger ornament and she said no, but she could order it and it would take about a week and a half to get it in. I explained that I wanted to order it ONLY if it was ok if I didn't pick it up if I found one elsewhere in the meantime. Meanwhile, the woman in ordinary clothes was standing by, listening to our conversation. The woman I was speaking to looked to the other "plain clothes" woman, and the plain clothes woman looked at me. In a way that sounded very condescending, she said, "Do you want it or do you NOT want it?" I replied, "I do want it, but I may find it somewhere else before you get it in." I tried to explain that I didn't want to put them out by having them order it if I wasn't 100% sure I was going to pick it up-- and it was okay with me if they couldn't order it. The plain clothes woman looked at the woman with the apron, SMIRKED and shook her head, dismissing me. I was already taken aback by the way she asked me, "Do you want it or do you not want it?" but this was when I began to feel offended. I would have completely understood if they weren't able to order it without a commitment from me, as I tried to convey several times. The attitude I got from the plain clothes woman is what made me feel really bad. I told my daughter to put the Grease ornament back. I think the aproned woman felt uncomfortable. She was being very polite but I suspect the plain-clothes woman was her manager.

Awesome...so much better then the last one that was in the mall.

We didn't see much except the ornaments, but the shop itself seemed nice.

I am sad that we had this experience at this store bc I had been telling my daughter for weeks that I wanted to buy her and her brother each an ornament this year from Hallmark. It turned into a bad experience and it makes me sad that my kids witnessed it.

First time shopper! Wonderful store!
