So now I'm scrambling, having to pay 2-3 times the rental rate previously contracted, all because they're short-staffed and short on inventory.
The inventory manager called back to let me know that NOT ONLY would I not be able to pick up the truck early, but THEY WOULD NOT HAVE MY RESERVED TRUCK AT ALL!! They offered me a truck 8' smaller than the one I reserved, or the option of picking up the truck I needed at 9am the next day...2.5 HOURS AWAY.
I called today to see if there was any way we could pick the truck up early. They were having telephone issues (the phone just rang), so I finally called their corporate office and got the cell phone number of one of the operators.
Called him at 9:30am and he said he'd call me right back and was sorry. I called HIM back around 4pm; he apologized again, noting he was the ONLY PERSON running their 3 businesses (budget truck, moving company and self-storage). He said he would have the inventory manager call me back.
I do not have the time, patience or MONEY to deal with this.
Budget emailed me and cancelled my 24 foot truck less than 24 hours before I was set to move. They didn't even bother to call me to tell me they were canceling. If I could give this company zero stars I would. I ended up using U-Haul and the customer service and cleanliness of their trucks was much nicer than Budget. I will never use them again.
Closed at 9:45 & not answering phone. Truck rented was full of roaches & overdue on being serviced. Not at all what it used to be.
